Training
Full training (5 days/ week) at Hidden Heaven Farm is $700/ month plus board ($550/mo). We have a small barn with owners and care takers on premesis. The quality of personal attention, care and turnout our horses receive is unbeatable, and so we are usually full. Please plan several months ahead if you would like to board with us.
Half training (3 days/ week) at Hidden Heaven is $420/ month, plus board.
Laurie travels throughout the Raleigh area and is happy to do regular training rides and lessons, or set aside a day to clinic at your farm. Training rides and lessons in the immediate vicinity (within 10 miles of Hidden Heaven) are $65 for 45 minutes. Laurie travels to the Garner area Mon, Wed, and Thurs., Apex/ Holly Springs on Tuesdays, and the Creedmore area on Fridays. Rates are between $65 and up, depending on travel time.
After an introductory session, booking reserves your day and time each week unless otherwise arranged. A 24-hr cancellation notice is required. Rain dates will be made up within the week whenever possible.
Laurie would be happy to break your young horse and introduce him or her to the basics of classical training at the walk, trot, and canter. It is recommended to immerse the horse in half or full training at this stage whenever possible.
Lessons on Laurie’s FEI horse
Lessons on Laurie’s FEI horse are available on a limited basis for $85. Lessons on a horse schooled to this level are invaluable, and can teach a rider in a short time what can take months on a less educated mount. Although he appears massive, his sweet personality and willing nature will inspire confidence in any rider. Let him show you what you’ve been missing!
Children’s lessons on our 12.1 hand Welsh pony, Trinity, are available on a limited basis ($40 for a 30 minute lesson).
There are package rates for trailer loading and behavior problems, so that these issues can be dealt with intensively and resolved quickly and in a way most beneficial to your horse. In no situation is a horse ever forced or intimidated into the proper behavior. We believe in a reward-based system that leaves your horse wanting to please you!
Short videos can easily be arranged for the remote owner.
